How to Delete or Unpublish a Form

Last updated 2026-08-04

Unpublish (top-bar Publish toggle) to stop new responses while keeping the form and all past responses — you can republish anytime. Delete (trash-can icon on the dashboard) to permanently remove the form and every response; this is irreversible and there's no restore option.

  1. 1

    Decide what you actually need

Unpublishing is a pause: responses stop, nothing is lost. Deleting is permanent removal of the form and every response it collected. Pick based on whether you might need this form again.

  2. 2

    Unpublish to pause collection

In the builder, use the top-bar Publish toggle to turn the form off. It immediately stops accepting new responses, but the form and all existing responses stay intact. You can republish at any time.

  3. 3

Unpublish before editing a live form

If a form is already published, you'll need to unpublish it first to change design or settings, make your edits, then republish — this is a common reason to unpublish temporarily rather than delete.

  4. 4

Delete to remove a form permanently

On the dashboard, click the trash-can icon on the form you want gone. A “Delete this form?” dialog confirms: “This action will permanently delete the form and all its responses. This cannot be undone.”

  5. 5

    Confirm the deletion

Confirming the dialog removes the form and its responses immediately. There's no undo or restore exposed in the product, so only delete a form you're certain you won't need.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a deleted form back?
No. Deletion is presented as permanent in the product — there's no restore or undo feature. If you might want the form again, unpublish it instead of deleting it.
Does unpublishing delete my existing responses?
No. Unpublishing only stops new responses from coming in. Everything already collected, and the form itself, stays exactly as it was until you choose to delete it.
