Troubleshooting

Why Isn't My Form Getting Responses? (Troubleshooting)

Last updated 2026-08-02

Most commonly the form isn't published yet, or the wrong link is being shared. Check publish status first, then confirm you're using the current short link, your embed code is correct, and no branching logic accidentally dead-ends before submit.

  1. 1

    Confirm the form is published

Unpublished forms don't accept responses. Open the builder and check the Published badge; toggle Publish if it's off.

  2. 2

    Use the current link

If you've changed your form's slug, the old siliform.ai/f/{old-slug} link stops working — grab the current one from the Share panel. The original /public/submit-form/{uuid} link always works, even after a slug change.

  3. 3

    Check your embed snippet

If the form is embedded via iframe, make sure the src URL matches your published form's link and the site hasn't cached an old, unpublished version.

  4. 4

    Look for dead-end branching logic

If a question's per-option logic or a section's default jumps somewhere unintended, respondents can get stuck before reaching Submit. Walk through Preview end-to-end to confirm every path reaches completion.

  5. 5

    Rule out spam protection

Public submissions are rate-limited to 10 per minute per IP per form, and a honeypot field silently rejects obvious bots. Rapid manual testing from one connection can hit this limit — wait a minute and retry.

Frequently asked questions

Could responses be there but hidden?
Check your quality filter — if it's set to “Clean” or “Flagged” only, some real responses may be filtered out of view. Switch it to “All.”
I fixed it — will old visits count?
No. Views and responses only count from when the form is live and reachable at the link being shared; fixing publish status or the link doesn't retroactively add prior visits.
