Tips for Better Typeform QR Codes
- ✦Generate from the live link, not the builder URL. The address in your browser while editing (admin.typeform.com/form/…) is the editor, not the form. Use the link from the Share panel — yourname.typeform.com/to/… — or your QR code will send respondents to a login screen.
- ✦Add your tracking parameters before you generate. Typeform reads query parameters into hidden fields, so append something like ?source=booth-poster to the link first. Every scan of that printed code then arrives tagged, and you can tell which placement actually worked.
- ✦Scan it with a real phone before you print. Check the code opens the right form and that the form is published — an unpublished or paused typeform shows an error page, and you will not discover that from looking at the QR image.
- ✦Print at 2 cm × 2 cm or larger. Below that, phone cameras struggle at anything but very close range. Download the 512 px PNG for anything heading to a printer; 256 px is fine for slides and email.
- ✦Re-issue the code if you change your workspace name. Your typeform's URL contains your workspace subdomain. Renaming the workspace changes the link and silently breaks every code already in circulation.
- ✦Tell people what they are scanning. A bare square gets ignored. "Scan to enter the draw" or "60-second feedback" next to the code measurably lifts scan rates.
