- ✦Copy the share link, not the editor address. The URL while you are building the form is the editor. The one to encode is the public form link — tally.so/r/… — from the Share panel.
- ✦Add a source parameter so scans are traceable. Tally reads URL parameters into hidden fields, so generating from ?source=market-stall tags every response that came from that printed code. Without it, every channel looks identical in your results.
- ✦Regenerate if you move the form to a custom domain. A code made from a tally.so link keeps pointing at tally.so. That still resolves, but it undoes the point of putting the form on your own domain.
- ✦Print at 2 cm × 2 cm or larger. 512 px PNG for print, 256 px for screens. Then scan the printed sheet itself — scaling down in a layout tool is where most unscannable codes are made.
- ✦Avoid glossy lamination and dark backgrounds. Glare across a laminated code defeats the camera, and low contrast does the same. Keep it dark-on-light and matte wherever it will sit under a light.
